Zero-Sum ITS Solutions India Pvt. Ltd.
Zero-Sum ITS Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with Zero-Sum, Ltd. (Japan) under project assistance from Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan, and in partnership with Cube Highways Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Maruti Suzuki India Limited, and Bengaluru Traffic Police, successfully demonstrated two V2X use cases under real life traffic conditions in Bengaluru—Road Works Warning on the Nelamangala Expressway and Traffic Signal Information Broadcast in Bengaluru city.
“Safer Work Zones”: Use Case for Road Works Warning on Expressways:
On the Nelamangala Expressway (operated by Cube Highways), Maruti Suzuki vehicles equipped with V2X On Board Units, received real-time, in‑vehicle alerts for upcoming road works and lane closures from Road Safety Equipment of NAGOYA ELECTRIC WORKS CO., LTD. that were equipped with V2X Road Side Units. These timely warnings helped drivers slow down earlier, change lanes safely, and approach work zones with greater awareness. The demonstration validated end‑to‑end information flow—from roadside detection, message distribution, and in‑vehicle HMI alerts—supporting safer operations and improved worker protection.

“Smoother Intersections”: Use Case for Traffic Signal Information Broadcast:
Within Bengaluru city, V2X‑equipped Maruti Suzuki vehicles received traffic signal status information directly onto the On Board Units in the vehicle. By previewing upcoming signal information, drivers could decelerate smoothly when approaching intersections and reduce last‑second braking—enhancing comfort and overall traffic efficiency. The demonstration showcased the seamless integration of city signal controllers, secure data distribution, and an intuitive in‑vehicle experience.

Why This Matters
Together, these demonstrations marks a significant step towards V2X deployment in India by bringing practical safety and efficiency benefits to everyday driving scenarios—work zones and signalized intersections. They also highlight effective collaboration between infrastructure operators, technology providers and vehicle manufacturers.
